After seeing the total devastation in Houston caused by Hurricane Harvey, Massage Envy franchise owner, Brendan McBratney knew that he had to do something. What he didn’t know at the time was that three employees of Massage Envy locations in Houston lost everything. That’s when he got to work. The past week, he has been busy organizing and recruiting other Dallas-Fort Worth Massage Envy locations to join him.
Thirteen DFW Massage Envy locations and Sterling Health Center will join together to host Helping Hands for Houston Hurricane Harvey Relief Drive on Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Participating locations will offer three complimentary services with any monetary donation. One hundred percent of the donations collected that day will go to the Massage Envy Houston Displaced Team Member Fund to help them rebuild their lives.
The three services available are:
- 60-minute customized massage session
- 60-minute Healthy Skin facial session
- 30-minute Total Body Stretch session using the Streto Method
“After seeing thousands of good people rush into Houston to rescue people they didn’t even know, I knew we had to do something. Then, after learning that at least forty-four of our Houston Massage Envy teammates lost something, and several that lost everything, our Helping Hands for Houston Hurricane Harvey Relief Drive was put into action,” said event organizer Brendan McBratney who owns three North Texas Massage Envy franchises. “I picked up the phone and got twelve other Dallas-Fort Worth clinics and owners, and Sterling Health Center to agree to the plan. This is a small way to let our Houston Massage Envy team members know we care. It’s the right thing to do.”
This offer will only be available at the participating Dallas-Fort Worth Massage Envy locations and Sterling Health Center on Sept. 20. Those wishing to participate should make their appointment quickly as it is expected to fill up. Contact the participating center directly to book appointment. Throughout the week, the participating centers will be collecting donations as well.

McBratney is no stranger to philanthropy. In 2013, he filled an entire truck with donated goods to help neighbors in Moore, Oklahoma after a horrific tornado blew through the town. He has supported MS Bike Ride, Susan G. Komen, and the Arthritis Foundation to name a few.
