DESCRIPTION:The Dallas-based early music core ensemble performs “Vino & Vib
 es - An Evening of Vivaldi\, Vitali & Valpolicella” on Friday\, April 25 a
 t 8pm. Italian wines from North Italian regions accompany the ravishing so
 ngs and madrigals\, spirited chaconnes and toccatas of the 17th-18th centu
 ries. \n“There is a deeply personal\, expressive quality to the 17th centu
 ry Italian style\, all rooted in the human voice. It’s freer\, somewhat ex
 otic\, and represented by a surprising number of composers. Opera arias an
 d madrigals dominated the period\, and eventually gave rise to a vast numb
 er of instrumental works in the 17th and 18th centuries\,” said Molly Hamm
 ond\, Lumedia’s Music Director. \nThese rare and exquisite works require o
 nly the core ensemble: soprano and Artistic Director Julianna Emanski\, vi
 olinist Daniel Lee\, cellist Christopher Phillpott\, lutenist Hector Torre
 s\, and harpsichordist Molly Hammond. Each instrumentalist will take cente
 r stage at various points\, alternating their collaborative roles. A curat
 ed selection of wines from neighboring regions will be served to enhance t
 he sensory experience of time and place. \nThe concert takes place in Mead
 ows Hall at The Sammons Center for the Arts in Dallas on Friday\, April 25
  at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $55 and include complimentary valet parking\, an
 d libations with the artists. Audiences have proclaimed Lumedia to be ‘wac
