On 31 January, 37 Upper School students of Dallas International School performed in the school’s 15th annual Music Concert at the Jonsson Performance Hall at UTD. This yearly event gives the students the chance to explore and perhaps, even, discover an artistic side of themselves that they never knew they had. 5th through 12th graders performed a wide variety of songs and musical styles from Ed Sheeran and Adele to Bach and Mendelssohn. They performed as soloists, duets, a trio and as a choir. Some sang a capella, while others accompanied themselves on guitar, piano and even with cups as percussion. Three of our students shared the stage with guitarists Howard E. Scott from the 70s funk band War, DIS music teacher Michael Gomez and former DIS student Lucas Gachelin. The hours the students spent preparing and rehearsing outside of class paid off beautifully the night of the show!
