Quite often the transition from working on an education to working toward building a career can be quite surprising and unsettling. Much of what you learned in school may not apply in this new environment of policy, procedures, office politics, corporate speak, goals and objectives, and company vision.
Plano-based author and SMU alum, Alan L. Oppenheimer provides insight and direction for dealing with many issues and conundrums you will encounter in the workplace.
Alan will be guiding adults on how to navigate through the world of work in his upcoming zoom course offered on Saturday morning, April 10th, from 9 to 11:30 am. via SMU CAPE.
In this 2 ½ hour course, he brings together voices of experience along with his own background of corporate work for JCPenney, Tuesday Morning, Neiman Marcus and Sally Beauty.
Whether you are approaching your summer internship or have recently graduated from college, this 2 ½ hour course is open to all adults at the cost of $39.
Course code is CS030 and registration link is here
Recommended reading to accompany the course is the quick paperback, Workplace Secrets Revealed (Passing the Baton to the Next Generation) available for $16.95 at both SMU Bookstore located on Mockingbird Lane and Barnes & Noble in Plano located at Preston and Park Blvd.
