One of our very own Rangerettes and Ursuline Academy student, Maggie K, has been accepted in the NSLI-Y program to study Arabic for 7 weeks this summer in Amman, Jordan. Congratulations Maggie on this huge accomplishment. 

The National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, provides merit-based scholarships for eligible high school students and recent high school graduates to learn less commonly taught languages in summer and academic-year overseas immersion programs.

NSLI-Y is part of a U.S. government initiative that prepares American citizens to be leaders in a global world. Now more than ever, it is important that Americans have the necessary linguistic skills and cultural knowledge to promote international dialogue and support American engagement abroad. Ursuline Academy commits to educating global leaders focusing on the Ursuline mission through active service, intellectual enrichment, co-curricular programs (locally and abroad), sister school relationships, and other partnerships.

Students engage in a variety of transformative experiences which help them grow in global competence. Through educational and cultural exchanges, Ursuline students may travel and meet friends worldwide as well as host visiting sister school students in their own homes. Mission & Heritage experiences are offered by Ursuline and through Ursuline Educational Services and the Diocese of Dallas.
