The Jesuit Rangerettes are excited to announce their 2017-18 Rangerettes Team.  Our Captain is Allyson P.  This is her 4^th year on the team and 3^rd year as an Officer.  The First Lieutenants are Alexandria T and Natalya H.  They are both 4 year members and this is their 2^nd year as an Officer. Our Senior Lieutenant is Jordan P, 3 year member and first year as an Officer.  In addition, our Junior Lieutenants are Maggie S, Courtney L, and Mattia C.  All are 3 year members and first year on the Officer line.

In addition, our Social Officers were elected.  Christina D is our President; Jillian C and Caitlyn J are Vice Presidents; Kate H - Secretary; Jordan V – Chaplain; Taylor L – Historian; Hannah B – Sophomore Sargent; Ashton A – Community Service.

During our Spring tryouts, we added 13 new members to our team.  Taylor B; Ciana C; Ruth Anne E; Mary Kate J; Magdalena K; Miller K; Ella M; Emily M; Bri N; Olivia P; Savannah R; Rebecca R. and Nicole Z.  We look forward to all they will bring to our organization.

Next on the schedule for the Jesuit Rangerettes is Officer camp and Line camp.  During this time, we will learn and perfect our performances for Football season and beyond.

The Jesuit Rangerettes Drill Team is comprised entirely of students from Ursuline Academy. They perform a wide range of audience-pleasing dance routines at Jesuit College Prep football, basketball, soccer, and rugby games.  

They also perform at Ursuline basketball games, compete every spring, and perform at special events by invitation of both schools, the community, and national organizations.  Please keep up with us through Social Media and our website www.jesuitrangerettes.org  

The Rangerettes from Ursuline Academy, under the direction of Linda Coffin and Debra Roth, received high honors in the North Texas Regionals Dance/Drill Team Competition in Rockwall, TX.

The Rangerettes Team won the Sweepstakes Award as they received a 1^st division rating for the performance of ALL of their dances.  In addition, the team received the Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence as the team received 90’s and above on all of their dances from all of the judges.  The Judges also selected the Rangerettes for the Judges Award for all four of the team routines.  As the tradition continues, the Ursuline Academy Rangerettes won the Academic Champions in the Large School category bringing in the highest GPA for their team.  The team also won Best in Class, Best Overall Choreography, Best Overall Presentation, and Best Overall Technique.  The team wrapped up the awards winning Best of the Best Teams and placing in the top 10 of the 52 teams that competed.

In addition to the many team routines, the Rangerettes Officers won big in the Officers division.  These 6 young ladies – Grace S, Lindsey H, Lexi Z, Allyson P, Natalya H, and Alex T - brought home the Sweepstakes Award and the Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence.  In addition, they won Runner up Best in Class Officers, the Judges Award and Best Overall Choreography.

Courtney L and Allyson P won the Large School Division for their duet.  Sixteen of our ladies performed solos at the Regionals Competition.  Tied for 5^th place was Lindsey H, Mattia C, and Allyson P.  Natalya H placed 4^th and Courtney L was the First Runner Up.

Finally, our Director, Linda Coffin was awarded American Outstanding Director.  This is a big honor in addition to great timing as this is her 20^th year directing the Rangerettes. 

Alex Tedeschi, 16, a student at Ursuline Academy of Dallas, and a member

of Girl Scout Troop 485 recently completed her Girl Scout Gold Award by

building a large 700 plus library and game center at the Genesis

Shelter.  Genesis Women's Shelter & Support was established in 1985 as a

shelter for women and their children fleeing domestic violence. Since

its founding, Genesis has added a transitional housing facility -

Annie's House - and a non-residential counseling facility - Genesis

Women's Outreach - to assist victims of domestic violence. Each year,

Genesis serves hundreds of women and children through its residential

programs, with hundreds more receiving counseling at its Outreach facility.

Genesis Shelter - Annie's House is a safe haven for victims of domestic

violence.  The shelter gives women an opportunity to find a new

beginning to their lives. Women and their children will stay at the

shelter for months. During this time having a form of entertainment and

education is important.  While volunteering at the shelter Alex realized

these residents did not have a collection of books and games at their

disposal. Alex spent over 125 hours brainstorming, planning, leading

volunteers in cataloging the items into an electronic check in/out

system, building and painting the shelves, organizing the products on

site and training the staff.

Since the completion of the library, Genesis has asked Alex to become a

member of their teen board, STAR. Students Tackle Abusive

Relationships.  During her time on the board Alex will be able to show

her support through holiday parties for the children at the shelter,

various fund raising events, educating the community about Genesis and

speaking to youth in her community about domestic violence.

Alex has been a member of Girl Scouts since 2nd grade and says the

program has taught her valuable life skills. "I realized my potential

for making a small difference in the world," she said. "Girl scouts

showed me that it is important to work hard for my goals and issues I

believe in. I learned I can lead a large group of people over an

extended period of time and I expanded my written and communication

skills by asking for donations and managing the delivery, installation and

unveiling of the new library at Genesis.  Huge thank you to Half Price

Books for their donation!"

The Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn,

combines leadership development, career exploration and community

service.  It culminates in an 80 plus hour leadership project that each

girl plans and executes according to her own interest and passions. Each

girl must discover an issue in the community, connect with experts and

community members, and take action to effect positive change.

successes at the American Dance/Drill Team
Officer Camp. Our ladies brought home All
American Team of the Day and All American
Team of the Week. In addition our team was
awarded the Diamond Sweepstakes award
for performing 3 routines with scores of 90 or
above. Our Officers were also awarded the
Home Routine Award and Creative Choreography
Award.

In addition to the team awards, our ladies won
multiple individual awards. Grace S and Allyson P
were awarded All American Dance/Drill Team;
Lindsey H, Lexi Z, Natalya H, and Alex T were
awarded All American Honorable Mention. In
addition to these great accomplishments, Grace S
and Allyson P were awarded the most prestigious
award of All American Dance Company and Grace S
earned Outstanding Performer for exceptional talent,
effort and leadership. All of our Officers earned the
opportunity to perform at the Buffalo Wild Wings
Citrus Bowl New Year's Day Halftime Show and the
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

line camp. All of our young ladies will attend as we
learn and perfect our performances for Football

The Jesuit Rangerettes from Ursuline Academy became stars of their own Disney show on February 14, 2016, when they entertained guests at Waterside Stage in Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.  They traveled over 1000 miles from Dallas to take part in the Disney Performing Arts Program.

The performers, under the direction of Linda Coffin and Debra Roth, put on a wonderfully choreographed performance for the guests visiting the unique entertainment area.  Their performance included dances to Cotton Eye Joe, Hold My Hand, Last Dance and many other songs.  By being part of this special show production, the students got an inside look at what it is like to be a professional in the entertainment industry. 

This was the premier performance for the Jesuit Rangerettes with Disney Performing Arts.

Vocal, instrumental and dance ensembles from around the world apply to perform each year as a part of Disney Performing Arts at both the Disneyland Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.  Once selected, they are given the opportunity to perform at the resort for an international audience of theme park guests.  Millions of performers have graced the stages of the Disney Parks in the more than 25-year history of the program.
