 Live Local Group to Host ‘Fill the Peace Pantries’ in East Dallas

WHAT: The Live Local Group will be hosting a drive to fill the Peace Pantries* at Dallas Public Schools including: Woodrow Wilson High School,  Long and Geneva Heights Junior High Schools, Lipscomb and Mockingbird Elementary Schools on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th at the White Rock Ale House & Brewery.

Peace Pantries are working food pantries within the walls of several schools in the DISD that are operated in cooperation with each school’s PTA and school administration.  They simply and immediately fill the needs of the students and their families.

The Live Local Group will be manning a 24-foot truck receiving donations until the truck is FULL of items to benefit students and families in need. Requested items include:


  • Canned vegetables and fruit
  • Canned Beans
  • Rice – bags and microwavable
  • Pasta and Spaghetti and pasta sauce
  • Mac & Cheese
  • Soup, Hormel Complete meals
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Canned meat
  • Canned Ravioli, Canned Chili
  • Peanut butter crackers, granola bars
  • Ramen noodle packets
  • Oatmeal packets and cups
  • Pancake mix - just add water
  • Anything with a pop top Is best!
