Winston Student Places Third in State Competition

The Winston School is proud to announce that sophomore student Jada Davis placed third in the State of Texas at the High School Bowling Competition that was held Saturday, March 30 at the Bandera Bowl Lanes in San Antonio, Texas. The event consisted of team and single playoffs. Sixty-five students qualified for the State Finals.

Ms. Davis has been bowling since she was seven years old and averages around 230 per game. She credits her success to her parents, Derrick and Traci Davis, a host of coaches and friends. Last year, Jada won the United States Bowling Congress Dallas youth tournament.

Jada is a very active student at The Winston School. She serves in the Student Council as a class representative, meets with visitors as an "Eagle Guide," and participates in the band and volleyball programs. In celebration of her upcoming competition, the school celebrated Jada's accomplishments on Friday during lunch. Bowling sponsor and teacher James Neve announced during Friday's lunch Jada's plans to compete at the state competition over the weekend. In her honor, students were served a specially made cake and ice cream.
