April 9, 2015    Dallas’ annual corporate soccer tournament, America SCORES Corporate Cup, is planned for Sunday, May 17 at MoneyGram Soccer Park.  This tournament brings together employees from top Dallas-area companies for a day of soccer, team-building, networking, food and beverages and charity.

Games are co-ed and consist of 12 to 15 players and may include co-workers, spouses, clients and friends.  Each team is guaranteed three 20-minute-long games.

Benefits include jerseys, food and drinks, tickets to a FC Dallas game, a trophy for the winning team and city-wide bragging rights.  Winner in 2014 was the FC Dallas team, which will play again this year.

MoneyGram Soccer Park, located at Walnut Hill Lane and !-35 E, is a soccer-specific facility with 19 fields owned by the City of Dallas and operated by FC Dallas.  The corporate cup is made possible through a donation by the FC Dallas Foundation.

The cup benefits America SCORES Dallas, a nonprofit which benefits underserved children in urban Dallas Independent School District elementary schools through after-school programs focusing on teamwork, literacy and community service.

In its 11 years in Dallas, SCORES results show reduced BMI levels, improved endurance, better teamwork and cooperation in the classroom, improved language arts skills and a boost in self-esteem.

A tax-deductible donation of $3,000 per team will ensure the program will remain free to participating schools.  For additional information, please visit the website dallasscorescup.org or contact Crystal Schober, America SCORES Dallas executive director at cschober@americascores.org for team registration.
