Providence Mesopotamia Day.jpg

Wearing stunning ancient world costumes, Providence Class Five students enjoyed a day of celebrating the cultures studied in history on March 30.  Egyptian bingo, a mummy race, mosaic making, building both a cereal box Tower of Babel and a sugar cube replica of an ancient structure helped students experience the life of faraway times and places.  After a Mediterranean lunch including chicken, salad, pita bread, and grapes off the vine, four teams competed in the Providence Olympics.  The games consisted of chariot races, throwing the discus and javelin, and a “dress like a Roman” relay.  Through these various hands-on activities, students solidified their knowledge of ancient Mesopotamian cultures.
