This competition is not until May, but filmmakers who are interested in participating may want to start planning and putting together their teams now.

The Angelika Film Center in Mockingbird Station is hosting the 11th Annual 24-Hour Video Race from 11:59 p.m. May 4 to midnight May 5.

The event is a filmmaking competition that requires participants to write, shoot, edit and score a film that is five minutes in length or shorter within a 24-hour time frame. Participants will be given the theme and required elements for the film at the beginning of the competition. The films must be submitted by the midnight deadline to be judged.

There are several categories that teams can compete in, and both students and adults can participate. For more information about the competition, visit www.24HourVideoRace.com.
