Providence Girls Win Soccer Championship

On February 10, the Providence Patriots girls’ soccer team won the TAPS championship in an exciting game beating Prince of Peace Christian School in penalty kicks. The teams were tied at the end of regulation with a score of 1-1. They then played two overtimes, but no one scored. It went to penalty kicks, and Ryan Bozman, Grace Meyer, and Landry Bozman made their kicks to defeat Prince of Peace with a final score of 4-2.

Coach Michele Kappas and Coach Nandi Pryce, both Dallas Theological Seminary students, served as dedicated coaches and mentors for the girls on and off the field. According to Kappas, “Coach Nandi and I are beyond proud of the girls for working hard all season. They treated each other like family; they had immeasurable patience and understanding; and they fought with tenacity in playoffs.”

Since 1989, Providence Christian School of Texas has provided academically able students from preschool to 8th grade with a challenging educational experience designed to help them know, love, and practice that which is true, good, and excellent, and to prepare them to live purposefully and intelligently in the service of God and man.  Providence’s core values are faith, family, intellect, counterculturalism, and stewardship.
