This Valentine's Day you can donate your hearts, Valentine hearts, that is, and your old cell phones to U.S. troops overseas. The message can be a simple one, “Thank you so much for what you do, we always need you.” 

Valentine cards cannot include glitter, food, or candy, but there are many ways to personalize a card. “Our troops are away from their loved ones and friends so they really want to know people back home appreciate them. Valentine’s are a morale boost. People can write messages to the troops on Valentine cards, and we make sure they are delivered to our brave men and women serving overseas,” said DeWayne Hughes, owner of Hughes Family Tribute Center.

Additionally, Hughes Family Tribute Center is collecting used cell phones. To date, enough old cell phones have been collected nation-wide to provide U.S. troops overseas with nearly 4 million free calling minutes. Each cell phone represents one hour of Free Talk time for our heroes overseas.

Hughes Family Tribute Center is one of nearly 1,000 Veterans & Family Memorial Care providers nationwide who sponsor the annual VFMC Operation Valentine initiative. Valentine cards and cell phones may be dropped off from through Monday, February 1 at:
