The Varsity and Middle School Basketball teams at The Westwood School have invited all supporters and attendees to wear blue on Friday, November 20th, to spread awareness for diabetes and the American Diabetes Month® which takes place through November. This cause is important to the Westwood community with 3% of Westwood High School students diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, one of which is on the Varsity Basketball team.

The Blue OutBasketballHome games will take place on Friday, November 20th in the Dallas Christian College gymnasium located at 2700 Christian Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75234. Middle School will play at 4:00pm against The Novus Academy of Grapevine. The Varsity team will play at 5:00pm against St. Mary’s School of Longview, Texas. Game entrance fees are $5 for adults and $1 for students. Westwood students may enter for free.

Supporters of all teams are invited to wear blue to raise awareness of American Diabetes Month which takes place each November. It is a time to come together as a community to Stop Diabetes®. According to the American Diabetes Association®, nearly 30 million Americans living with diabetes and nearly 86 million Americans living with prediabetes. Donations will be collected for the American Diabetes Association®, and information will be available.
