Council for Life Celebrating Life Luncheon Honorary Co-Chairmen Bill and Lezlie Noble

Council for Life is honored to announce Nick Vujicic as the featured speaker for its 13th annual Celebrating Life Luncheon.  The event will take place November 13 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. Luncheon proceeds will benefit 16 life-affirming agencies. Since 2001, Council for Life has donated more than $4.7 million to life-affirming agencies across North Texas.

Vujicic, (Voo-yee-cheech) founder and president of Life Without Limbs, is a world-renowned motivational speaker and New York Times best-selling author. His books have been translated into 30 languages.  The 32-year-old Australian was born without arms or legs, due to a medical condition called tetra-amelia syndrome.  Despite disability, Vujicic taught himself to swim, golf, surf and play soccer.

He began a public speaking career at age 19; to date he has spoken in 54 countries. During his 2013 World Tour, Vujicic shared his encouraging message to an estimated 400 million people through broadcast and other media. Vujicic has been featured on “CBS News Sunday Morning,” “Oprah’s Lifeclass,” “PBS Religion & Ethics Newsweekly,” USA Today, Newsmax, “Life Today” and “The 700 Club,” and twice on “60 Minutes Australia.” Christianity Today named Vujicic to “33 Under Thirty-Three,” a cover story about 33 Christian leaders under the age of 33.

In 2012 Nick married Kanae Miyahara. One year later the couple gave birth to a son. The Vujicic family lives in Southern California. “I am honored to participate in the Celebrating Life Luncheon," says Vujicic. "God took my life, one that others might regard as insignificant, and filled me with a sense of purpose. If God can use a man without arms or legs he can use anybody."

Celebrating Life Luncheon will begin with an 11:00 a.m. reception. The luncheon and program start at noon, ending promptly by 1:30 p.m.  More than 1350 supporters attended last year’s luncheon featuring Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan.

“Nick Vujicic knows his life is not an accident or without purpose, said Patty Lynch Smith, luncheon chairman. “His core message, every life has value no matter how difficult the circumstances, reflects the very heart of Council for Life.”

“The Celebrating Life Luncheon is a tribute to the women, men and precious children we serve through our beneficiary agencies and through personal ministry,” said Rebecca Lutz, president of Council for Life.  “Our mission, like Nick’s, puts the power of faith into action.”

“Lezlie and I are passionate supporters of Council for Life and have the pleasure of knowing Nick Vujicic and his wife, Kanae, personally, “ says Bill Noble of William Noble Rare Gems and Jewels.  “We are thrilled to announce his involvement and know his words will have a lasting impact.”
