Lakehill Heads to State Playoffs

The Lakehill Warriors traveled to cross-town rival Tyler Street Christian on Thursday in a contest that would determine district runner-up.

Tyler Street jumped out to a quick 20-0 first half lead, but the Warriors fought their way back into it with touchdown catches by senior Cole Ellis and junior Kevin Lantz. The Crusaders held a 32-14 halftime lead, but Lakehill went on a long offensive march to start the second half. Tyler Street made a key defensive stop deep in their territory, and the momentum quickly shifted. The Crusaders added several touchdowns, and the Warriors tacked on a touchdown run by freshman Gerard Franklin making the final score 53-20, with Tyler Street clinching second place with the victory.

Lakehill finishes a successful regular season with a 7-3 record (2-2 district) and advances to the Area Round of the TAPPS State Playoffs. The Warriors will take on San Antonio Castle Hills First Baptist at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15. The game will be played at Mt. Sacred Heart in San Antonio.
