Owner Elizabeth poses next to Studio 6

The Pilates Barre in Preston Forest Square announces its grand re-opening as Studio 6, an independent fitness studio with a passion for high intensity exercise that is easy on the joints and produces visible results. Longtime Preston Hollow resident, Elizabeth Lindberg, is the founder, owner and trainer at Studio 6 Fitness. “Due to overwhelming demand, we are expanding our services to offer our clients and the community the very best pilates, barre and now, yoga workouts in the Metroplex,” she says. This 2,500-square-foot location, which originally opened in September 2012, has now expanded to include updated retail space featuring local organic pressed juices, a wide selection of pilates and yoga apparel, including Studio 6 fitness apparel, and specialty gift items.

Studio 6 has become popular with clients of all ages and fitness backgrounds, ranging from working professionals to stay-at-home parents, high-school athletes to middle-aged men and even people over the age of 60.  Clients are attracted by the studio’s signature classes that provide an intense but low impact full-body workout in 50 minutes that empower the mind and strengthen the body.  The flexible hours paired with a welcoming and encouraging environment have created a tightly knit community of loyal patrons. “We have busy clients that desire an efficient workout with visible results. In less than an hour, our clients receive a full body workout.  We are committed to providing the most efficient workouts in a supportive environment. Our six key principles: core, strength, balance, flexibility, endurance and spirit, resonate in all of our programs, but for some clients, the number six reminds them of their favorite 6 a.m. class or the 6 pack abs they are trying to achieve,” says Lindberg on the renaming and expansion of services at Studio 6.

Studio 6’s signature pilates workouts combines cardio and strength training with pilates and are based on the revolutionary Lagree Fitness Method, which redefined efficient exercise using the MegaformerTM.  A machine designed by celebrity trainer Sebastien Lagree that provides infinite exercises and constant resistance, the Black Edition MegaformerTM remains a popular focus in classes. With the addition of new machines this summer, Studio 6 has become one of the largest Lagree method studios in the United States and the largest in Texas with 14 MegaformersTM. Lindberg remarks, “Our studio is one of the pioneers in bringing the MegaformerTM to Texas. The unique and rare workout has become so popular that we often have waitlists.  Because of demand, I felt it necessary to add more MegaformerTM to allow more people to participate in these popular classes.  Outside of Hollywood, we are the largest MegaformerTM studio in the country.”

Along with name change and addition of more state-of-the-art fitness machines, Studio 6 is introducing Yoga 6, which is a fusion of mat pilates and flow yoga. Yoga 6 uses the energy of Vinyasa inspired movements along with the stabilizing and regenerative dynamics of pilates to strengthen core and also increase balance and flexibility. Lindberg says, “A yogalates inspired class was a natural fit with our Studio’s 6 key principles of core, strength, balance, flexibility, endurance and spirit. We considered customer feedback and requests while developing both of our Yoga 6 and BarreSCULPT signature workouts.” The new BarreSCULPT class combines pilates, ballet, and yoga with an additional emphasis on core strengthening exercises. BarreSCULPT is a vigorous low-impact, results-oriented workout for every age that is taught in a fun, high-energy group environment.

Lindberg adds, “Though the name has changed, our commitment to customer service and providing a welcoming and encouraging environment to our clients is paramount.  Whether in private appointments, small group sessions or large group fitness workouts, clients will continue to receive personal attention to ensure an enjoyable workout and that their individual fitness goals are met.”  Studio 6 Science is about incorporating the 6 principles in an efficient and effective method to deliver clients visible results in fastest amount of time. In response to the need for fast communication, she says, “With this idea, we are launching a new app, accessible on iPhone, iPad and Android, to help clients save time signing up for classes.”

Studio 6 is located at 11909 Preston Road, Suite 1412, Dallas, Texas 75230, the northwest corner of Preston and Forest. For more information on classes and times, call (972) 239-2626, visit www.studio6fitness.com or download the app Studio 6 for cell phones.
