Preston Hollow runners and cyclists who enjoy using the Northaven Trail may be interested in attending a public workshop about the path later this month.

A workshop, which the Preston Hollow community is welcome to attend, about the Northaven Trail to White Rock Trail/Low 5 Multimodal Connection will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 in the Zale Auditorium at the Jewish Community Center of Dallas, located at 7900 Northaven Road.

The event will begin with an open house from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., continue with a presentation and Q&A session from 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and end with another open house from 7:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Northaven Trail, which is located between Forest Lane to the north and Royal Lane to the south, is two-and-a-half miles long, stretching from Preston Road on the west to Valley Dale on the east.

"Studies are also already underway to determine how the (Northaven Trail) can be extended to the east so that it can connect with the White Rock Trail and to the west so that it can reach Denton Drive," according to the Dallas County website. "When fully completed, the trail will contain over eight miles and will connect with multiple neighborhoods, schools, community centers, churches, synagogues, and parks."
