Rabbi Andrew Paley and David Falk

On July 20, Temple Shalom hosted the first Annual Splish Splash Havdalah Bash. Kids of all ages enjoyed making their own spice boxes and then participating in Havdalah under the trees surrounded by friends and family. Rabbi Paley’s guitar playing and Cantor Avery’s singing enhanced the setting. Once the prayers and songs were finished, it was time to race to the waterslides! Older kids and brave younger ones loved whooshing down the Wild Rapids slide while our youngest guests enjoyed the mini-shark one. Add in a bubble machine, sprinkler fun, pizza and popsicles and you had the perfect recipe for a spectacular summer night at Temple Shalom!  “What a wonderful way to end Shabbat and bring in a new week!  When families, friends and community come together at Temple Shalom to welcome the sunshine, the laughter, the holiness of the time and place and especially the waterslides, something amazing happens.  We are grateful to our wonderful community for bringing this delightful time to all of us,” said Rabbi Andrew M. Paley.
