The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) has awarded its highest accolade, the NACD B. Kenneth West Lifetime Achievement Award, to Jack Lowe Jr., Chairman, Zale Corporation and TDIndustries. He received this award on November 27 in New York City at the NACD Directorship 100 Forum for exceptional performance by a director in the boardroom.

Eliza Solender, Chapter chairman of the North Texas NACD, said, “The North Texas Chapter of NACD sponsored Jack Lowe for the national NACD B. Kenneth West Lifetime Achievement Award.  It is the national NACD’s highest honor.  Jack is the Chairman of the Board of Zale Corporation and TDIndustries.  He has been an exemplary board member on our chapter board.  He epitomizes the values and principles of good governance and corporate citizenship.  Under his leadership, TDIndustries has been named to Fortune 500 ‘Best Companies to Work For’ list for 15 consecutive years.”

 

Renee Hornbaker, Chapter president of the North Texas NACD, added, “Beyond his corporate work, Jack’s selfless endeavors on behalf of his community include nine years of service on the Dallas Independent School District Board of which the last three as president.  We are very appreciative of the time that Jack is able to provide in serving on our chapter board and his role in helping to establish the North Texas NACD Lead Director Network.”

Lowe is also a member of the Drew Industries and KDC. He served for two years in the U.S. Navy assigned to the Manned Space Center in Houston.

For 25 years, NACD has recognized distinguished individual directors who serve as role models in promoting exemplary board leadership, oversight and courage in the boardroom. Nominees are evaluated on four key categories: integrity, mature confidence, informed judgment and high performance standards.
