On April 15, 2018, the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance, in partnership with the Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts, will present the closing performance of Driving Miss Daisy as part of the Museum’s annual spring fundraiser. Proceeds will support the Museum’s special exhibitions and year-round programming, including its educational and community outreach initiatives.

Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play tells the story of the unlikely friendship between a Southern Jewish widow and a proud, soft-spoken African American man. Over the course of 25 years, they observe the evolution of race relations in the South and come to understand each other on a profound, life-altering level.

There will be a special pre-show talk about “What the essence of the play, Driving Miss Daisy, has to do with the new Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum?” During this presentation, guests will learn about the Museum’s exciting progress of building their new home, the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, and get a sneak preview of the human and civil rights exhibitions.
