The Warren Center Brings Holiday Joy to More Than 400 Children in North Texas

The Warren Center, a nonprofit agency providing professional evaluations, therapy services and support to children with developmental delays and disabilities,  welcomed more than 400 children and their families to celebrate the season in a sensory-friendly way with their specialized event, Operation Santa on December 9, 2018 at Venue Forty/50 in Addison, TX.

“Overall attendance increased by 20% from last year’s event. The bevy of volunteers, donated gifts and cheerful activities made this year’s Operation Santa one of our most joyous afternoons of the year,” said Amy Spawn, Executive Director of The Warren Center.

“The generosity of our partners at Venue Forty/50 and Reliant Energy, as well as the countless community members and businesses who participated in our Toy Drive directly contributed to our event that so many of the children and families from The Warren Center eagerly anticipate all year long.”

One in 68 kids in the U.S. has autism, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Children with autism are positively influenced by environments that take their sensitivity needs into consideration.

“The sensory elements associated with standing in line for Santa with other children, frantic parents, mall noise and flashing cameras can all prove too much so we create an environment for the children and families to enjoy this holiday rite of passage, year-after-year,” said Spawn.
