The new Central Market under construction in the old Border's location at Preston Road and Royal Lane will be allowed to sell beer and wine when it opens in "mid-winter." The Dallas City Council on Monday approved a variance allowing the sale of beer and wine at the 30,000 square foot store. Preston Hollow is abuzz about the opening of the new store, which is about have the size of Central Market stores in Dallas, Fort Worth and Southlake. Meantime, Central Market will hold its 2011 Feast of Sharing event at Fair Park in Dallas on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Centennial Building. The Feast of Sharing Holiday Dinners are one of the highlights of Central Mark and H-E-B's year-round effort to combat hunger. Originating in Laredo and Corpus Christi in 1989, Feast of Sharing serves free, hot holiday meals to the less fortunate in 27 communities throughout Texas and Mexico.
