The American Advertising Federation Dallas Chapter (AAF Dallas) is pleased to host the 53rd Annual American Advertising Awards, formally known as the ADDY® Awards competition, on February 26 at Gas Monkey Live! in Dallas. The award theme, Camp ADDY, was developed by Dallas agency Caliber Creative to inspire Dallas-area agencies to compete against an amazing pool of talent in the local advertising market.
“We are thrilled to be a part of such an exciting event where the top creative in Dallas get to show off their work!” said Heather Williams, chair of the AAF Dallas American Advertising Awards and agent at Dick Patrick Studios, Inc.
The American Advertising Awards features more than 40,000 entries across the country, competing at three different levels – local, district and national. Last year, AAF Dallas had almost 60 agencies participate at the local level with a total of 46 professional and student entries winning at district and eight of those winning at the national level.
“I am pleased with the diversity of the work and the volume of entries that the agencies are submitting,” said Larry Brantley, AAF Dallas president and chairman, and head of talent acquisition at The Company of Others.
Since 1968, the ADDYs are the only advertising competition that begins in smaller, local markets and progresses to the national level. Work is entered through one of the AAF’s network of more than 170 local advertising federations, such as AAF Dallas.
AAF Dallas’ 2015 competition was judged at the local level in more than 70 categories. Judges included Wade Alger, SVP, group creative director and copywriter at The Martin Agency; John Antoniello, creative director at Razorfish; and Mark Carlson, senior creative director/art director at McDonald’s.
The 53rd Dallas American Advertising Awards will be presented at Gas Monkey Live!, 10110 Technology Blvd, Dallas TX 75220, on Thursday, February 26, 2015, from 6-11 p.m. Cost for attendance is $125 for AAF members and $150 for non-members. Students are $50. Table sponsorships are available. Tickets can be purchased online at AAF Dallas.
