In a game that almost didn't happen, the Bishop Lynch Friar Football team gave up two late scores to lose to Argyle Liberty 37-24 on Friday, October 3rd. Storms blew through the Dallas area last Thursday night, knocking out power to campus and most of the surrounding neighborhoods. As 3:00 pm approached, the game was in serious jeopardy as power had not yet been restored. But shortly after alternate plans had been finalized, electricity returned to campus and plans swung into action to make sure the game--and Homecoming events--happened as scheduled.

During pre-game, the crowd was introduced to the Homecoming Court and the Athletic Department inducted the 2014 Bishop Lynch Sports Honor Roll: Erin Briskie (Class of 2002), Larry Juricek (Class of 1982) and founding father, Tony Roffino (posthumously).

One of the highlights of Bishop Lynch High School’s Homecoming festivities is the half-time crowning of the Homecoming Queen. Senior Andrea Sigsbee was the most recent recipient of this long-standing honor as she was crowned the 2014 Queen supported by court members Marie Phillips, Haley Puddy, Kathryn Sutherland and Kimberly Walter.

Senior RB Rawleigh Williams III had another stellar night, carrying the ball 32 times for 221 yards and three TDs. The Friar offense continued to roll, racking up 324 yards and spreading the ball around all over the field. Along with a much-improved run defense, the Friars held strong until two late scores ended the night.

The Friars now look forward to their next game against John Paul II in Plano, which kicks off at 7:30 pm on Friday, October 10th.
