Gendercide Art Installtion Opening At Library

On October 2, the public is invited to the opening of the Gendercide Awareness Project Art Installation at the Lakewood Branch Library, located at 6121 Worth, Dallas, 75214. Doors open at 6:45 for refreshments and a short reception.

Gendercide Awareness Project founder Beverly Hill will speak on, “Empowering Women: Ending Gendercide.”

This month-long art installation, which is 1/60 of the entire project, features almost 200 pairs of baby booties crafted by at-risk women from developing countries. Local groups also contributing to the exhibit include the Lakewood Knit Wits and art students from Booker T. Washington High School. Each pair of baby booties represents approximately 10,000 of the more than 117 million females around the world affected  by gendercide.
