Have a child who loves to help you out in the kitchen? Or, better yet, is your son or daughter so handy behind the stove that you stand back and let them put dinner on the table?

Well, your young chef may have a shot at stardom (and a $100,000 cash prize if they make it to the end) when the producers for MasterChef Junior come to town next Saturday to pick contestants for the show’s second season.

Saturday, Jan. 25, tow yourself and your talented little culinary artist(s) over to the Holiday Inn Dallas Central – Park Cities along North Central Expressway for an opening casting call from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you happen to have a young sous chef-in-training between the ages of 8 and 13 years old, you’ll have to preregister and provide some pretty extensive information about your child’s cooking experience on an application attached below.

You’ll have to describe your child’s cooking style, how he or she learned to cook, his “signature dishes” – you even have to rate your chef’s cooking ability on a scale from 1 to 10.

After you’ve completed the application, bring it with your junior “master chef” along with an apron when you arrive on Jan. 25. If for some reason you can’t make it in person, here are instructions for submitting a video audition. Video submissions are due by Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. PST. By the way, it is free to audition.
