Meet Julia and David Shelton – area residents and proud owners of the new Primrose School of Preston Hollow. Impressed by the outstanding reputation of Primrose Schools, Julia and David are excited to bring the first metropolitan Dallas location to Preston Hollow. Julia and David are college sweethearts. Following graduation in 2000, they married and made a home in Dallas. Today, they are proud parents of two daughters, Aubrey (8) and Leila (5).
The couple is very involved in the community. Julia has served on the boards of the Lake Highlands Junior Women's League, the Junior Group of the Dallas Garden Club, a local chapter of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers, International) and the Notre Dame School. She has also been involved in the Junior League of Dallas and the Dallas Symphony Chorus, and now serves on the board of her daughter's school PTA. Julia, David and their children enjoy being active members of Park Cities Baptist Church, where they are involved in the children’s ministry and are active in Sunday school. “Since David and I started a family, I have always considered getting back into the work force. When the opportunity arose for us to be a part of this well-respected company, I knew it was an instant fit,” says Julia. “We are excited to bring the Primrose experience to Preston Hollow. We are committed to providing the community with premier early childhood education.”
In 2002, Julia earned a Master’s degree from SMU and pursued her passion for education by becoming a teacher focusing on reading and language curriculums. She worked in both the Dallas and Plano Independent School Districts, and is excited to bring this experience to her role managing the new school.
David is a native Dallasite, born and raised in the Park Cities. He is a vice president at the largest retail commercial real estate firm in Texas, a position he will continue to hold while being involved in the daily operations at the new Primrose School.
