Ben Stafford (L) and Ajay Goluguri with iCode4Kids awards

Shelton fifth-grader Ben Stafford was a first place winner at the recent inaugural iCodeHack sponsored by iCode4Kids.  Some 200 Metroplex elementary, middle and high school students attended the event in downtown Dallas.  Stafford and his partner Ajay Goluguri, a fifth-grader from Ogle Elementary in Frisco, teamed together and placed first in the elementary division. Each won an iPad and a trophy.

Competitors were given a computer programming challenge to solve that encompassed STEAM (Science / Technology / Engineering and Math) and social aspects. Industry experts judged the competition and awarded prizes to the happy winners.

Says Linda Kneese, Head of Shelton School, “We're excited about the accomplishments of our Shelton students, whether on-campus or off.”
