Shelton School will offer a free program, Early Signs of Learning Differences, Wednesday, January 17, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Presented by Dr. Joyce Pickering, Shelton’s executive director emerita, and Amy Kelton, head of Shelton’s Upper Elementary division, the event is for parents, teachers and other professionals.  The workshop takes place on campus at 15720 Hillcrest Road, Dallas.  Topics include: typical child development from birth to age 6, early signs of learning differences and how to respond, and educational approaches that help all children.  Also discussed will be strategies that enhance order and independence, promote social skills, encourage critical thinking, offer oral language development, and improve gross and fine motor skills.
