On Thursday, April 21, Providence Christian School Class Three students put on their jeans, dusted off their cowboy boots and hats, saddled their horses, and headed west (well actually north) to Plano! At the new venue, Heritage Farmstead Museum, they and their pen pals from West Dallas Community School (Providence's sister school) enjoyed a day of hands-on activities, which highlighted the life and times of the Texas settlers. They washed clothes; weaved material; went to school; met the hero of many, President Sam Houston; and participated in sack and three-legged races. They also devoured a barbeque lunch in an old barn. Afterwards, they rode off into the sunset back to their homes on the range.
