SPARK! Dallas, the innovative educational nonprofit fostering creativity and empowering youth, presents SPARK! City, a first-of-its-kind public art exhibition that celebrates the unique neighborhoods of Dallas through the lens of local artists. From Friday, June 5th through Sunday, August 30th, SPARK! City will showcase the rich history, people, art and culture of these vibrant neighborhoods: Downtown/Uptown, Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts, The Cedars, Vickery Meadow and Deep Ellum.
Each room in SPARK! City will fully immerse guests in the energy and essence of a specific neighborhood brought to life through original works by local artists across a variety of mediums. Visitors will journey through Dallas, from the historic charm of the Cedars to the rhythms of Deep Ellum, the bold creativity of Oak Cliff, the original live/work/play neighborhood of Uptown, the variety of cultures of Vickery Meadow—all connecting with the city’s diverse cultural landscape.
SPARK! City is sponsored in part by the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture and the South Side PID (Public Improvement District).
The Artists:

Meg Bittner, SPARK! executive director, said, “With so many visitors coming to Dallas from around the world for soccer games this summer, we wanted to create a unique art exhibit to showcase Dallas’ distinctive neighborhoods. This exhibit is an exclusive opportunity for both Dallas residents and visitors to discover and celebrate the city’s creative heartbeat, freeing art from traditional gallery walls and placing it in the hands of the community.”
SPARK! is located at Southside on Lamar (1409 Botham Jean Blvd., Suite #004, Dallas, TX 75215).
