The Winston School hosted its annual Heroes and Hotcakes event on Thursday, October 19 with a very special visit from the Dallas Zoo Animal Adventures Outreach team. One day a year students and their hero are the guests of honor for a special breakfast celebration at Winston to celebrate the good things our heroes do for us every day, often without the recognition they deserve. Guests were treated to a delicious breakfast of hotcakes, sausage and fresh fruit. The Dallas Zoo staff did a fabulous job of keeping the audience entertained while showcasing some of our favorite animals. There was an opossum, baby alligator, anteater, owl, snake, three banded armadillo and everyone's favorite a penguin. This 45-minute interactive program was both educational and a fun experience for all who attended.
