Food trucks from around the state of Texas will be gathering at Valley View Center Mall this month for a two-day festival that will have food, music and family-friendly activities and will raise money for the North Texas Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The first annual TX Food Truck Fest is being hosted on May 11-12 in the South lot of the mall and will have arts and crafts vendors, bands, bounces houses, free parking and, of course, lots of food.

"The top food trucks from all over the great state of Texas will be here in Dallas for the biggest food truck festival Texas has ever seen," according to the event's website.

The festival will begin with a kickoff event and block party from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on May 11. On May 12, there will be a Dash & Dine 5k Run/Walk and a 1-Mile Fun Run from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., which will be followed by the Food Truck Festival from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

As of now, more than 20 food trucks that will be attending are listed on the event's website, but over 30 are expected to be at the festival.

The event costs $5 to attend, but children ages 12 and below will be admitted for free. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's North Texas Chapter will receive 15 percent of the attendance proceeds from the event.
