Dallas residents can dispose of unused or unwanted prescription medications on Saturday as part of a national drug collection event.

A National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day event has been scheduled by the Drug Enforcement Administration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28, and drugs will be collected for free then at Twelfth Step Ministry, which is located at 5324 W. Northwest Hwy.

The purpose of the event is to make sure prescription medications are disposed of properly and do not fall into the wrong hands. The past three Take-Back events have collected nearly 500 tons of prescriptions drugs.
