The Episcopal School of Dallas headmaster Stephen Swann, who founded the institution 38 years ago, will be leaving his position on Nov. 30, according to reports. ![](https://sites.bubblelife.com/viewimage/key/35127140/esd.jpg)
Swann announced last year that he was resigning, but it was reported that he was going to stay at the school until a new headmaster was selected.
An interim headmaster will be appointed to take over the position until a permanent candidate is chosen.
Swann's early departure is voluntary, and he will still oversee the school's endowment.
Last year, a jury ruled in favor of a former student, who had a civil suit against the school, and decided that ESD had to pay the student's family $9.2 million for allegedly not protecting her from having a relationship with a teacher and forcing her out of school after the situation was discovered. A settlement between the two parties was later reached, which was not disclosed to the public.
