In a celebration of philanthropic innovation and community impact, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of North Texas (SVdP) received the prestigious Texas Impact Enterprise Award at SMU last week. The honor centers upon the nonprofit’s charitable pharmacy (the first of its kind in Texas). St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Pharmacy has filled the gap for many uninsured North Texans in need of prescription medication and has experienced rapid growth, and even more significantly this past year.

The Pharmacy has filled almost 320,000 scripts, worth $87 million, since its inception. This caught the attention of those making the Texas Impact Enterprise Award selections.

SVdP works tirelessly to support its North Texas neighbors and create pathways out of poverty. The nonprofit’s unwavering commitment to serving those in need has not only transformed lives but also set a new standard for social entrepreneurship among the D-FW nonprofit landscape. The charitable pharmacy being a strong example of that.
