The students, staff, families, and local supporters of the Primrose School of Preston Hollow raised more than $10,550 for Primrose Children's Foundation, Save the Children, and Vogel Alcove at the first annual Spring Fling held on April 15. 

These funds, along with the money raised from more than 300 Primrose Schools across the country will benefit the company's not-for-profit organization, the Primrose Children's Foundation. A donation of $5,278 will also go to Vogel Alcove. For 27 years, Vogel Alcove has provided free, quality child development services for Dallas' youngest victims of poverty: homeless children six weeks to five years old. Vogel Alcove is the only comprehensive early childhood education program in the city of Dallas whose primary focus is to provide free childcare and case management for children and their families referred by 21 local emergency shelters, domestic violence shelters, housing programs and organizations that serve homeless families.

The Primrose Children's Foundation supports initiatives that advocate for children in the greatest need. Funding for the Primrose Children's Foundation, which combines the fundraising efforts of Primrose schools to create a greater positive impact, is raised primarily through local Spring Fling events held annually at Primrose locations nationwide. These events provide Primrose families the opportunity to celebrate spring while giving back to their communities. 

Save the Children is the world's top independent charity for children in need and the newest national partner of Primrose Schools. The organization has robust and impactful programs in the United States, such as child sponsorship and emergency preparedness, that provide children living in poverty with the skills and resources they need to succeed in school and in life. 

Primrose School of Preston Hollow held it's Spring Fling event on the evening of April 15, which featured a variety of Luau-themed children's activities, along with a silent auction with items donated from local businesses. The school opened up its doors to the community so the families could have a time to get together with children in a safe environment to play games and get to know other families.

Primrose School of Preston Hollow families collected new and gently used books during the month of February as part of the Og's Bountiful Books program, a Primrose reading program that encourages parents and students to read together at home and share favorite stories with classmates and children in need.

The donation drive is part of the Primrose Promose Gving portion of Primrose's Balanced Learning curriculum, designed to help students learn the importance of giving back to their community through hands-on giving activities and projects. This year, Primrose School of Preston Hollow partnered with the North Texas Reading Partners, who will place over 350 books donated by our families in local schools.

Reading Partners believes that all children deserve the opportunity to succeed. Through strong partnerships with school districts, including Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Uplift, and KIPP, as well as community partners, Reading Partners is working to ensure that all students in North Texas – no matter their background – have the opportunity to lead happy, healthy, and successful lives.
