No parent should have to choose between taking care of themselves and having safe, loving, expert care for their children. Mommies in Need, a North Texas non-profit, is  expecting, and is about to  bring into this world a new way to help parents through a  new addition to the organization’s family of services called  Annie’s Place, a drop-in childcare center located at Parkland Hospital that will serve parents in need across the Dallas area. At Annie's Place, a first-of-its-kind facility, expertly-trained nannies will care for children while their caregivers are attending appointments and receiving treatment at the hospital.

 

To celebrate this upcoming arrival, supporters of Mommies in Need are throwing a virtual shower! Anyone can participate in the event, which will be held via Zoom and will allow supporters to contribute much-needed items to outfit Annie’s Place. Everything from bottle warmers to toys, craft supplies and other kid-friendly items will be gifted to this facility in this very special online event.  Supporters are already purchasing items from the organization’s  Amazon wish-list registry, and more help is needed. 

 

Attendees at the virtual shower can play games, enjoy personal stories, catch a sneak-peek preview of Annie's Place, and see Mommies in Need founder and CEO Natalie Boyle unwrap items donated for the new drop-in childcare center, which is just weeks away from opening at 2131 Butler Street in Dallas. Supporters will also be driving through to drop off gifts in a socially distant fashion at Annie’s Place. 

 

Once open, Annie’s Place will also serve healthcare providers battling COVID whose typical childcare has fallen through. 

 

Mommies In Need allows parents who are experiencing a health crisis to focus on getting well, knowing that their children are receiving safe, loving care from specially-trained nannies. This North Texas non-profit organization relies on the generosity of the community, and is celebrating that spirit with a virtual shower featuring gifts from bottle warmers to markers to toys and so much more that will help Mommies in Need serve parents through the addition of Annie’s Place to the non-profit’s services. 

 

The virtual shower and celebration will be held Tuesday, August 25th, from 11 a.m. to noon on Zoom (the event is free to attend and is come and go, so don't miss the fun!). Annie's Place needs items to help fulfill the needs of the people it will serve, and a registry is available here:
