Ed at the Our Redeemer School auction in 2008

Our Redeemer Lutheran School of Dallas had a very good friend and ardent supporter in ORL Church member Ed Trapp—a friendship that continues after his passing last year.  In addition to his love and commitment to his church, his ardent passion was people relationships. His strong tenet in his professional and personal life was that "People are Important." Mr. Trapp’s giving reflected this by leaving a very generous gift for capital improvements to the school buildings and an endowment for tuition assistance, beginning the 2015-16 school year.

This summer’s hard work is now coming to an end, with new carpeting and paint throughout the school, a floor to ceiling remodel of the lunchroom and a courtyard renovation.  As the furniture gets moved back, the rooms are beginning to really take shape, ready for a fresh, exciting new start for the school year.

The generous scholarship funding was added to the existing Ruth T. Carlson Scholarship Endowment, which Mr. Trapp set up years before to honor his dear friend.  He was a strong advocate for the school and his gift will make an outstanding education possible for children for many years to come.

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and School will celebrate with a “Renovation Reveal” on Sunday, August 16th between worship services (9:00 to 9:30 am) and after the late service (11:45 to 12:30).

Our Redeemer is located at 7611 Park Lane at Boedeker.  For information or to schedule school tours for PK2 – 6th grade, please contact Carol Blackwood at 214-368-1371 or visit orlcs.com/school.
